The LSU Tigers rallied from a halftime deficit against Middle Tennessee State to advance to the Sweet 16 of the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
LSU, a No. 3 seed, trailed the No. 11 seed Middle Tennessee State at halftime on Sunday.
However, the Tigers got rolling in the second half, ultimately winning, 83-56.
Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey attempted to console an emotional Middle Tennessee State player in the postgame handshake line on Sunday afternoon.
A photo of Mulkey consoling Middle Tennessee State’s Savannah Wheeler is going viral on social media.

LSU has moved on to the Sweet 16, as the Tigers are now just one game away from a potential Elite Eight matchup against No. 1 seed Caitlin Clark.
